The Bampton Trust

The Bampton Trust is a registered charity, whose purpose is to support and advance charitable purposes in Bampton and adjacent areas of the Lowther Valley, Cumbria. Financial assistance can be made available to individuals, organisations or charities for a wide range of purposes, notably activities that will strengthen local communities or promote sustainable development.

Since its creation in 1996, the Bampton Trust has acquired four houses in Bampton Grange which are let to local people. A fifth property was converted to provide premises that house a tea shop and bed and breakfast accommodation which includes a family room and a twin-bedded suite; please book through the Mardale Inn.

Since its inception the Trust has made grants to a variety of local organisations. It also maintains the village garden and supports local events. The Bampton Trust has also made grants to individuals, in particular to meet educational needs.

It has a board of trustees made up of local people and currently they are
